Sarsilmaz began in Elazig, Turkey, with humble roots producing and repairing flintlock rifles during the late Ottoman Empire. INTEGRATED ARMS FACTORY
Operating Europes largest small arms factory, Sarsilmaz manufactures a diverse portfolio of sporting firearms, and land, air, and naval military weaponry within 1 million square foot production facility. This fully integrated campus enables complete in house engineering, testing, and manufacturing to support over 80 countries.

R&D CENTER CERTIFIED
Sarsilmaz became the first and only light-arms manufacturer to operate a Research and Development Center certified by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology. Through advanced engineering, materials science, and Industry 4.0 manufacturing processes, Sarsilmaz continues to pioneer innovation in firearm and defense technology.
2018
SARSILMAZ ENTERS THE US MARKET
SAR USA was established as the exclusive U.S. importer of SarsIlmaz firearms and ammunition. This direct partnership introduced American consumers to the same field-proven pistols trusted by military and law enforcement agencies worldwide, delivering European engineering and NATO-tested performance to the U.S. market.

HANDGUN OF THE YEAR
Less than two years after entering the U.S. market, the SAR9X—an evolution of the flagship SAR9 platform—was named “Handgun of the Year” by On Target Magazine and received Tactical Retailer’s inaugural Reader’s Choice Gold Award, signaling rapid acceptance among American consumers, professionals, and media.
2019-2022
MILITARY & LAW ENFORCEMENT ADOPTION
Following extensive performance and reliability testing, the Sarsilmaz SAR9 pistol was awarded multiple national military and law enforcement contracts. Between 2019 and 2022, more than 180,000 SAR9 pistols were delivered to the Turkish Land and Naval Forces, Coast Guard, and National Police, reinforcing Sarsilmaz’s reputation as a trusted duty-grade firearms manufacturer.
